Yes, in general terms the Sims 12V air conditioning system will work on all Sims cabs and most vehicles. However, it does require power from the alternator of the vehicle. The 12V air conditioning system takes a maximum of 40 Amps, compare this to your alternator's spare current capacity.

Equipment Problems

1. My wiper motor does not work or turn.

If your wiper motor does not work or turn test it with a battery charger before removing it from the cab. Check the ground connections, including the grounding of the cab to the chassis. This could save a lot of time rather than sending it back as a faulty part.

2. There's no heat at the heater coil, what's wrong?

One possible cause of this problem is an "air lock". Try to bleed the air out of the lines.
Another possible cause is a pinched hose. Trace all the hoses to ensure this is not occurring.
A third cause is that the hose splice is on the wrong side of the water pump. This problem dissipates once the thermostat has opened. Due to how the cooling system is configured on some engines, this problem can be easily remedied or not - refer to the standard heater hook-up diagram in our documentation section.

3. The heater does not throw heat, what's wrong?

Make sure that the fan is attached to the motor, the wiring is proper, and the fuse is good (20 Amps). Proper wiring procedures include connecting the power to the "B" terminal of the switch, connecting the orange wire to the "H" terminal, and connecting the red wire to the "L" terminal (with the body grounded).
